The Jamestown Area YMCAs are geared up and ready to partner with local-area community members and business employees who want to stay healthy or lose weight this holiday season, during the Y’s 12th Annual Zero Gain Campaign.

The Zero Gain Campaign starts November 19th and ends just after the New Year on January 4th, and only costs $5.00 to participate. To register for this “weight-loss-accountability-program” contact the Jamestown or Lakewood YMCA’s. To start and end the pro...gram the ‘weigh in’ and ‘weigh out’ will take place at the Jamestown/Lakewood YMCA or the program participant’s place of employment.

By participating in this program, participants are setting themselves up for success.

“Often times, we speak in terms of the future, ‘I’ll start my diet next week’ or ‘My New Year’s goal is to lose weight,’ says Kacey Shelters, wellness director for the Jamestown Area YMCAs. “But why wait? Set yourself up for success by creating healthy habits now.”

Moreover, program participants need not be YMCA members to participate. However, those wishing to utilize the Y’s facility to help stay on target during the campaign have the option of doing so for a nominal fee.

“Each participant will receive three guest passes to the YMCA for themselves to use, or to give to someone they know,” stated Shelters. “We are also offering a special discounted YMCA Zero Gain membership through the duration of the campaign for $30. With this membership, you have access to both Jamestown and Lakewood YMCAs, which includes over 50 group exercise classes weekly, such as Zumba®, Pilates, Strength Training, Cycling, Yoga, water exercise, and much more.”

For more information, please contact Shelters at the Jamestown YMCA at 716-664-2802 ext. #231, or you may pick up a registration form at either YMCA location.

Additionally, all program participants who maintain their starting weight or lose pounds through the holidays will win a prize.
