Welcome Glen Shoup – Building the Future of Aquatics at the Jamestown Area YMCA

The Jamestown Area YMCA is excited to welcome Glen Shoup as our new Aquatics Director!

Glen joins our team with an extensive background in aquatics leadership, competitive swimming, staff development, and program management. More importantly, he brings a passion for creating safe, engaging, and inclusive aquatic experiences for people of all ages and abilities.

With Glen's leadership, we are excited to continue strengthening and expanding our aquatics program. Members can look forward to a renewed focus on quality swim lessons, water fitness classes, open and lap swim opportunities, lifeguard development, youth programming, and competitive swimming. Glen is committed to building a program that not only teaches life-saving water safety skills but also creates opportunities for wellness, confidence, and lifelong participation in aquatics.

As he settles into his new role, Glen will be getting to know our members, listening to feedback, supporting our incredible aquatics staff, and evaluating ways to enhance our programs and services. His vision is centered on providing an exceptional experience for every swimmer—from infants taking their first swim lesson to seniors enjoying water exercise and athletes training for competition.

"We are thrilled to welcome Glen to the YMCA family," said Interim CEO John Barber. "His experience, leadership, and enthusiasm make him an outstanding addition to our team, and we are excited for the future of aquatics at the Y."

Please join us in welcoming Glen when you see him around the Y! We are confident his leadership will help our aquatics program continue to grow and provide meaningful experiences for our members and the entire community.

The future of aquatics at the Jamestown Area YMCA is bright, and we're excited to dive in together!
