Keeping It Moving All Day: Work and Play

July 19, 2018

Life has a way of throwing ‘curveballs’ at us -forcing us to choose between what we have to do and what we want or love to do- and more often than not the latter ends up losing.

For one local-area teacher, she’s found the perfect blend of doing what must be done, and what she loves to do at the same time.

Sue Gullo, a physical education teacher for the Jamestown Public Schools, who also happens to be a standout Jamestown Area YMCA fitness instructor is the “Master Architect” when it comes to mixing the “have-to-do” with the “want-to- do’s.”

After having three children of her own, Gullo then ventured to the stoic building located at 101 E. 4th Street to begin her conquest for “fitness greatness” by first achieving her own goals. Not long after, Gullo was ready to take the next step. Which, was then the transformation from student to instructor. Combining a job with her passion.

“First, I taught Kickboxing, then I gave Power Pump a try.  Around 2009, I discovered Zumba® and fell in love with the classes,” exclaimed Gullo.

It’s common knowledge around the good ole’ Y that Gullo is passionate about Zumba®.

Gullo, for her amazing ability to orchestrate the merger of a job with something you love to do is a role model for others looking to make a positive change in life.

If you’re interested in trying out one of Gullo’s spine-tingling, hip-sawing, dance-to-the-beat and flow, Zumba® classes feel free to contact the Jamestown YMCA welcome center for more information.

Gullo instructs Zumba® Tuesdays 4:15-5:15 pm and Saturdays 9:30-10:30 am at the Jamestown YMCA -

“Come try it, I guarantee you will have a blast! I look forward to meeting you,” added a welcoming Gullo.
