LAKEWOOD YMCA STARZ GYMNASTIC PROGRAM

 The Lakewood YYMCA_0590.JPGMCA offers a complete gymnastics program from tots to competitive team. The Lakewood YMCA houses a 10,000 square foot gymnastic center that includes uneven bars, balance beams, spring floor, in-ground trampoline, 40 foot tumbling track and a 600 sq. ft. foam training pit. Our gymnastics program builds and reinforces children’s skills in the area of physical coordination, agility, strength, balance, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and confidence in themselves. Our classes teach skill progressions that vary based on age and ability.

Tots Tumbling – Ages 3-4 Your toddler will experience a fun and playful atmosphere as they explore and experiment with the world of movement. This class is designed to improve coordination, develop flexibility, increase strength, and have fun with gymnastics. Saturdays:  9:00am – 10:00pm Member – $60; Potential Member – $75 (8-week session)

Beginners – Ages 5 and up Children will learn the basic gymnastic skills using vault, bar, beams, trampoline and floor. Class is divided into groups based on ability. Monday: 4:00pm- 5:00pm, Tuesday: 5:00pm- 6:00pm, Wednesday: 4:00pm, Thursday: 4;00pm-5:00pm, Saturday: 10:00am- 11:00am.  Member – $60; Potential Member – $75 ( 8-week session)

Intermediate This class is designed for students who have learned beginner skills and need to master them before moving to pre-team. Must be approved by gymnastic director prior to enrollment. Practice is twice a week. Monday/Wednesday 4:00pm to 5:15pm; Member $115; Potential Member $140

Saturday: 9:00am-10:30am Member – $70; Potential Member $85 (8-week session)

Boys- 4:00pm-5:00pm

TEAM-Shooting Starz

Team – Level 2/3

For students that have learned intermediate skills and are ready to master them. 4-week sessions.

Must be a YMCA Member:

Team – Level 3

For students that have learned level 2 skills and are ready to move on and compete at level 3. 4-week sessions.

Tuesday 4:00pm-6:30pm, Thursday: 4:00 to 6:00pm:

Must be a YMCA Member: $81/month

Saturday 10:30am-12:45pm

Must be a YMCA Member: $45/month

Team Level 4/5

4-week sessions. Classes meet 4 times a week. Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: 5:00 to 8:00pm

 Monday/Wednesday/Thursday : 5:00pm to 8:00pm with an optional Tuesday class 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Must be a YMCA Member: $115/month.

Team Level 6 and up

Team members have mastered skills and are ready to compete. Gymnastic director’s approval required.

Monday/Wednesday/Thursday : 5:00pm to 8:00pm, or Tuesday 6:00pm-8:00pm : Must be a YMCA Member: $115/ month.

Tumbling Class

This class is great for cheerleaders wanting to work on their tumbling skills. 8-week sessions.

Saturday: 11:15am to 12:15pm

Member: $60

Adult Co-Ed Volleyball Leagues

The co-ed rec league is for those who enjoy some good, clean fun!

The co-ed semi power league is for the slightly competitive volleyball players.

Each team must have 6 players with at least 2 women. The leagues run for 11 weeks with 2 weeks for playoffs. There are only 12 spaces available for rec and 8 for semi, so register early! All registrations are made on a first come, first served basis.

Youth Indoor Soccer

This league emphasizes participation, fun, and fair play, while focusing on skills and learning team play.
Scores will not be kept.
4 to 8 year olds play on Saturdays.  8 to 12 year olds play on Sundays.

Adult Soccer Leagues

Ages: 18 & older
The Lakewood YMCA offers three separate soccer leagues for adults that play on their indoor sports field.

CO-ED RECREATIONAL SOCCER LEAGUEAdultSoccerLeague

The adult recreational soccer league is designed for players to get a great workout and develop soccer skills while having fun. Play will be Thursday nights at the Lakewood YMCA.
Age: 18 and up
Day/Time: Thursdays from 6:00 to 10:00 pm

Play begins in October.

Registration Deadline: September 22

ADULT POWER SOCCER LEAGUE

The power soccer league is for advanced indoor soccer players. The league ends with a tournament.  Sign up as a team or individually for a draft in December.  Join the fast action of 6-on-6 power soccer! Rotating game schedule. WOMEN’S SOCCER LEAGUE

A league of their own! This is a competitive league with skill improvement and fun as the main goal. Tuesday night play. All players are welcome.
Age: 18 and up
Day: Tuesdays

Play begins in October.

High School Soccer

Join over 70 area high school teams for indoor soccer leagues at the Lakewood Y.

Racquetball

The Jamestown YMCA has one racquetball court off the upper gym.  The Lakewood YMCA has three  racquetball courts across from the tennis courts.  The cost to play for one hour is $6 for members.  For more information on racquetball leagues, contact the Lakewood YMCA at 763-0303.


Pickle Ball

Join us at the Lakewood YMCA for one of the fastest growing racquet sports around.  Pickle ball is a racquet sport that combines badmonton, tennis and table tennis.  All equipment is provided.
Days/Times:  Tuesdays 1 to 3 p.m., Fridays 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sundays 3 to 5:30 p.m.

Squash

Squash is a racquet sport that is played by two people in a four walled court.  The squash court is located at the end of tennis court 5 at the Lakewood YMCA.  You must call the welcome center to reserve the court.  Cost is $6 an hour.

ADULT TENNIS INSTRUCTION
The Lakewood YMCA offers a complete and extensive tennis program. We have something for players of all ages and abilities! Contact Paul Young, Tennis Director, for times and fees.

Tennis Clinics/Drills: Adult tennis clinics are designed for the beginner to intermediate tennis player. Fast paced tennis drills are available for the intermediate to advanced player looking to improve their game and get into tournament condition.
Wednesday – 9:30 – 11:00am
Thursday – 10:30 – 11:30am, 6:00 – 7:00pm

Private and Semi-Private Lessons:
For adults and juniors of all ages and abilities are available upon request.
