2015 Partner With Youth Annual Giving Campaign

SO MUCH MORE IS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR SUPPORT

We have an extraordinary opportunity to ensure a brighter future for the Jamestown area, but we need your help.

Last summer, we were able to give over 140 kids scholarships to resident camp at Camp Onyahsa, and we also gave scholarships to over 150 kids for local YMCA summer day camps.

Your gift to the Jamestown Area YMCA will have a lasting impact in this community by helping us to give more children life-changing opportunities and experiences through these programs and so many more.

When you give to the YMCA, your gift will help young people achieve their potential, empower people of all ages to lead healthier lives, and strengthen the bonds of community in the greater Jamestown area.

Together, we’ll take on many of the greatest challenges facing our young people, our health, and our community.

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

We know when we work together, we move more individuals, families, and communities forward. Every day, Y staff, volunteers, members, friends, and community partners work side-by-side to tackle the important issues impacting the greater Jamestown area.

What if more people joined our cause? Imagine what this community would be like if…

• More kids had a safe place to go to learn, laugh, and play
• More people had the guidance and tools to lead healthier, more balanced lives
• More of our neighbors could access the support needed to create a better future for themselves

Together, we can make this a reality for the greater Jamestown area. Our community faces challenges, but we see possibilities rather than obstacles because of committed Y friends and generous donors like you.

Every gift makes a difference.
Everyone has a role to play.
Together, we can do so much more.

Healthy Kids Day on April 24

Keeping Kids’ Minds and Bodies Active

To kick-start physical activity and learning now and throughout the summer – a critical out-of-school time for kids – on Friday, April 24, the Jamestown YMCA is celebrating Healthy Kids Day® with a free community event for kids and families.  YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being, features games, contests, giveaways, activities and more to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home.

2014-HKD-WB_Purple-01

The YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day will focus on health and education to ensure fewer children are at an increased risk for childhood obesity and more children succeed in school.  During summer, research shows that kids are more likely to gain weight and fall behind academically than during the school year. Healthy Kids Day is not just a single day of fun, active play and learning – it’s a kick off to helping parents get a jump on creating a healthier summer.

In celebration of YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, the Y offers the following tips to help families develop healthy habits:

The Jamestown YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day event takes place at the YMCA’s 101 East 4th Street location from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  For more information, contact Gina Bloomquist at (716) 664-2802 ext. 222 or visit www.jamestownymca.org.
