We are presently hiring for the following positions:

Child Care – Jamestown YMCA

The Jamestown YMCA is now hiring after school child care workers for both Ring and Love Elementary Schools.

Positions available: Group Leaders

Must be at least 18 years of age with experience working with school-aged children & available between the hours of 2:45-6:00 pm on all regular school days.

We offer a wide variety of activities to children in our after school programs. You may have the opportunity to teach lessons in drawing, cuisine, arts and crafts, music, photography, science and nature, performing arts, community service and much, much more.

The Lakewood YMCA is now hiring for before and after school child care workers for Southwestern and Bemus Point Elementary Schools.

Applicants must be 18 years of age with experience working with school age children.  Must be able to work after school hours 2:30-6:00pm and/or before school hours for Lakewood 6:15am-8:40am.

YMCA HERITAGE HOUSE CHILD CARE CENTER

Our program, located at 155 Prather Avenue in Jamestown, is designed to ensure that children engage in age appropriate activities that will broaden their experiences and stimulate their total development; physically, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.

We serve children from infancy to school age: infants (6 weeks to 18 months), toddlers (18 months to 2 years), and preschool (3 years to 5 years).

Education through play is a large part of a child’s learning experience. Children will participate in a variety of activities that will introduce them to letters, numbers, colors, animals, sports, music, drama, outer space, culture, nutrition, and so much more!

Full Time Day Care: $145/week

Daily Rate: $45/day


After School Care

Quality childcare is our priority at the Y, and our after school programs are great for working parents. We strive to provide a positive atmosphere for children with activities that teach honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility. Our staff is made up of well-trained adults who enjoy working with children.

Our after school programs serve children ages 5 to 12 and are open on all regular days of school (by district) Monday thru Friday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Each day, children will receive a nutritious snack and daily activity choices such as arts and crafts, sports, swimming, computers, literature, cooking, community service projects, games, homework help, and so much more!


Youth Karate

8th Degree Blackbelt Christina Kebort instructs this ancient art of self-defense at the Jamestown Y. Students learn karate through a colored belt system which develops physical defense and encourages the formation of high personal standards and respect for others. 8-week sessions, call the Welcome Center for more information. Ages 6-15 years. Please note the change in time for the summer.

Tom Buttafaro Youth Basketball League (YBL)

The YMCA basketball program emphasizes the child first and sports second through fair play, sportsmanship, and equal participation.

Late sign ups will not be accepted.

Grades: 1st – 8th grade.   Divisions will be divided into 1/2nd grade, 3/4th grade, 5/6th grade, and 7/8th grade.

Welcome to Summer at the Y!

Whether your child is looking to make new friends, improve sports skills, learn to shoot a bow and arrow or just have a great time, the Y has the answer!

Each and every camp centers on our four character development traits of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We also combine fun and adventure with age-appropriate, camper-centered programs which incorporate new skills and group activities, all in a safe environment.

Scholarships may be available for qualifying families. Each week features a variety of themed based activities that includes trips to Camp Onyahsa, sports, nutrition, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming, outdoor activities, literature, drama, and an exciting day trip, to places like Waldameer, Sky Zone, Midway Park, and more!

Lakewood YMCA Day Camps

The Lakewood YMCA offers day camps for two age groups.  Adventure Camp is for children ages 8-13 and Camp Wee-Okee is for children ages 4-8. Camp runs from 7:30am-5:30 pm Monday-Friday and begins June 29 and ends August 21.  Intro to Camp, for children ages 3-5, runs Monday-Wednesday from 9:00-11:30am the weeks of July 6, 13, and 20. Amy King Scholarships are available for qualifying families. Each week features a variety of themed based activities that includes trips to Camp Onyahsa, sports, nutrition, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming, outdoor activities, literature, drama, and an exciting day trip, to places like Darien Lake, Splash Lagoon, Waldameer, and more!

Eastside YMCA Day Camps

Eastside will operate two day camps this summer. Camp Eastside (Rising K-4th Graders) is designed in a nurturing environment with age appropriate activities that help children learn more about themselves and others. This camp runs from 8:30am-5:00pm. Weekly activities will feature storytelling, singing, arts & crafts, sports, swimming, science, drama, cooking, and so much more! Summer days become productive days for our participants in our Middle School Academy Summer Day Camp (Rising 5th to 9th Graders). We are looking for kids who want to keep their mind sharp, body active, and friendships expanding. Our camp runs from 9:00am-5:00pm daily and provides constructive, supervised fun for a small cost. Daily activities are geared towards creative crafts, hands on learning, swimming lessons, and active play. Each week children will have the opportunity for outdoor play at local playgrounds and a weekly trip, to places like Waldameer, Presque Isle, Sky Zone, and more!

Y Kids

Ages: Ages 5 to 12
Y Kids is the place to be for your 5-12 year old on days when there is no school!  We provide tons of interactive, challenging activities with cool themes, great trips, and top-notch supervision in a fun atomsphere.  Children should bring a lunch, a morning and afternoon snack, swim suit, towel, gym shoes, and refillable water bottle. See below for days and times.

The program begins at 7:30 – 5:30 and follows the Jamestown School calendar in regard to days off from school.
Bring: lunch, morning and afternoon snack, swimsuit and towel.
*pre-register with child’s immunization records in person at the Welcome Center at least 1 week in advance.
