Child Care

Quality childcare is our priority at the YMCA.  We strive to provide a positive atmosphere for children with activties that teach honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility.  Our staff is made up of well-trained adults who enjoy working with children.  Parents can help ensure their child’s safety by taking an active interest in his or her YMCA experience.  Parents are encouraged to monitor volunteer and staff interactions with their children and report any unusual behavior to the YMCA Executive Director.

Welcome to Summer at the Y!

Whether your child is looking to make new friends, improve sports skills, learn to shoot a bow and arrow or just have a great time, the Y has the answer!

Each and every camp centers on our four character development traits of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We also combine fun and adventure with age-appropriate, camper-centered programs which incorporate new skills and group activities, all in a safe environment.

Jamestown YMCA Day Camps

The Jamestown YMCA will offer two age group camps – Camp Discovery (ages 5-8) and Camp ChauTau (ages 9-12). Program runs Monday – Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm and begins June 30 through August 22, 2014.  A nutritious lunch and afternoon snack are provided. Scholarships may be available for qualifying families. Each week features a variety of themed based activities that includes trips to Camp Onyahsa, sports, nutrition, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming, outdoor activities, literature, drama, and an exciting day trip, to places like Waldameer, Sky Zone, Midway Park, and more!

Lakewood YMCA Day Camps

The Lakewood YMCA offers day camps for two age groups.  Adventure Camp is for children ages 8-13 and Camp Wee-Okee is for children ages 4-8. Camp runs from 7:30am-5:30 pm Monday-Friday and begins June 30 and ends August 22.  Intro to Camp, for children ages 3-5, runs Monday-Wednesday from 9:00-11:30am the weeks of July 7, 14, and 21. Amy King Scholarships are available for qualifying families. Each week features a variety of themed based activities that includes trips to Camp Onyahsa, sports, nutrition, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming, outdoor activities, literature, drama, and an exciting day trip, to places like Darien Lake, Splash Lagoon, Waldameer, and more!

Eastside YMCA Day Camps

Eastside will operate two day camps this summer. Camp Eastside (ages 5-10) is designed in a nurturing environment with age appropriate activities that help children learn more about themselves and others. Weekly activities will feature storytelling, singing, arts & crafts, sports, swimming, science, drama, cooking, and so much more! Summer days become productive days for our participants in our Middle School Academy Summer Day Camp (5th to 8th grade). We are looking for kids who want to keep their mind sharp, body active, and friendships expanding. Our camp runs from 11-5 daily and provides constructive, supervised fun for students entering 5th to 8th grade for a small cost. Daily activities are geared towards creative crafts, hands on learning, swimming lessons, and active play. Each week children will have the opportunity for outdoor play at local playgrounds and a weekly trip, to places like Waldameer, Presque Isle, Sky Zone, and more!

YMCA Heritage House Mini Day Camp

Join us for 6 weeks of extraordinary summer fun designed just for preschoolers in our licensed child care center.  YMCA Heritage House Summer Camp is for kids ages 3-5 and will provide children with an experience of a lifetime. Each camp week offers theme based activities and adventures to keep your preschooler learning and having fun all summer long!

YMCA Heritage House Child Care Center

The YMCA Heritage House Child Care Center, located at 155 Prather Avenue in Jamestown, serves children from infant to school age including infants (6 weeks to 18 months), toddlers (18 months to 2 years), and Preschool (3-5 years). The staff is made up of certified teachers and well-trained assistants who are committed to providing an atmosphere of exploration and discovery for every child.
Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Cost:
Daily rate – $45.00
Full-time, weekly rate – $185.00

Y Kids

Ages: Ages 5 to 12
Y Kids is the place to be for your 5-12 year old on days when there is no school!  We provide tons of interactivew, challenging activities with cool themes, great trips, and top-notch supervision in a fun atomsphere.  Children should bring a lunch, a morning and afternoon snack, swim suit, towel, gym shoes, and refillable water bottle. See schedule for days and times.

The program begins at 7:30 – 5:30 and follows the Jamestwon School calendar in regard to days off from school.
Bring: lunch, morning and afternoon snack, swimsuit and towel.
*pre-register with child’s immunization records in person at the Welcome Center at least 1 week in advance.

Days: Jan 2, 3, 20, 31; Feb 17-21, 28; Mar 21; Apr 1, 14-18; May 16
Plus snow days as needed 8:15am-5:30pm
7:30am-5:30pm Full days off from school
11:30am-5:30pm Early dismissal from school

Childwatch

Ages: 6 weeks to 9 years
Childwatch services are offered free of charge to YMCA Family and Youth members while you work out. Toys, games, videos, crafts, and coloring make your child’s stay fun. Please call ahead to make reservations. Two-hour time limit.

AM Hours – ages 6 weeks to 6 years
 Mon/Wed/Fri 8:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Tues/Thurs – 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday – 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.* (ages 6 weeks – 9 years)

PM Hours – ages 6 weeks to 9 years
Monday – Thursday – 3:50 -8 p.m.
