Welcome to the Jamestown YMCA Aquatics Department under the direction of Aquatics Director Jason Chinni. The aquatic facility conists of an upper pool (82-83 degrees) for lap and family swim and a lower pool (86-87 degrees) for swim lessons and water exercise supervised by certified lifeguards. A swimming test may be adminsitered for any person of any age in order to swim in the deep end of the pools. A non-swimmer is a person of any age who can not pass the deep end test. They are required to stay on the shallow side of the pool. For more information, please see the lifeguard on duty.
Must be able to swim one length of the pool front crawl and back stroke. All swimmers who practice are eligible for meets regardless of their ability.
Meets are held on Saturdays either home or away. Swimmers also have the opportunity to join numerous social activities with their teammates. Swimmers must be current YMCA members.
Practices are offered 5 days a week, and swimmers should attend a minimum of 3 practices per week. Practices begin Monday September 15, 2014. All returning swimmers should report to JHS. New swimmers and swimmers under 8 report to the Y for the first swim practice.
