The Lakewood YMCA boasts a 10,000 sq. ft. facility including
uneven bars, balance beams, spring floor, in-ground
trampoline, tumble-track, and an over 600 sq. ft. loose foam
training pit. The
program is under the direction of Chuck Jambliter, U.S.A.G.
safety certified, with over 20 years coaching experience.
Gymnastics
builds and reinforces children’s skills in the area of
physical coordination, agility, strength, balance, gross motor
skills, and fine motor skills, yet the most important part in
our program is FUN! Our
classes teach basic skill progressions, which vary according
to the age of the child.
We offer a maximum 6:1 student to coach ratio for
developmental classes.
Tiny
Tumblers
Preschoolers
will have fun while increasing the development of gross motor
skills, strength, balance, and coordination using a variety of
tumbling equipment. This class is for children ages 3 -
5 years of age.

Beginner
Beginner
(ages 5+): This class is designed to teach basic skills on the four
Olympic events. All
skills are taught in a progressive manner with each new skill
being built upon the child’s previous successes.
All beginner classes are divided into three separate
groups (beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate)
and as the gymnasts master each skill, they will progress
through the different levels.
