CHILD WATCH

Free Child Watch services are offered to YMCA Members while you work out.  Toys, games, videos, crafts, and coloring make your child's stay fun!  Please call ahead to make reservations.  Stop at the welcome center for more information or call Jamestown at ext. 241 or Lakewood at ext. 30.  There is a 2-hour limit for our Childwatch program.

PRESCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS
 
Our preschool programs give kids a welcoming place to make friends and learn new 
skills in a variety of ways.  These classes help kids grow in spirit, mind, and body.  
All YMCA programs aim to build confidence and competence in children in a safe, 
secure environment for social and emotional growth

Kids (Moms) Morning Out

This is a drop-off program for kids while moms take some time for themselves for shopping, appointments, errand running, etc... Ages 2-5 years.

Tiny Tumblers

Preschoolers will have fun while increasing the development of gross motor skills, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination using a variety of tumbling equipment.  This class is for ages 3-5 years old.

Stay and Play

This class for 1 - 2 year olds and their parents (or caregivers).  Parachutes, beams, trampoline, and more will be used to foster socialization and confidence, as well as improving balance, strength, and coordination.  8-week session

Intro to Sports
Attention all 3-5 year olds!  This fast and fun class is designed to introduce children to different sports and show them the real reason we participate in them.  Offered at th

Youth Karate
Gaffar Academy and Christina Kebort instruct this ancient art of self-defense.  Students learn the movement, respect, history, purpose and finer aspects of karate through a colored belt system. 8 Week Sessions.

Youth Basketball League

Junior Development Tennis Lessons
Kids of all ages can learn the sport of a lifetime in this action-packed youth tennis program. Small group classes from beginners to the top high-school players (ages 4-18). Classes held after school and Saturdays.

LAKEWOOD HOLIDAY 
DAY CAMP

The Lakewood YMCA offers full day childcare for kids ages 5-12 during the school year on most holidays, vacation days, and conference days.  The Southwestern School Age Program follows the Southwestern School calendar.  Early drop-off and late pick-up (7:30 am, 5:30 pm) are available for working parents.  Traditional activities include swimming, theme activities, arts & crafts, large group games, sports, exciting trips, cooking, and more.  Our staff is made up of well-trained students and adults who enjoy working with school age children.  Our program places special emphasis on character values such as honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, and faith.  Registration begins three weeks prior to the event.  Scholarships for program fees may be available for qualifying applicants.  For more information, contact Donna Garvey at Lakewood.  9:00 am- 5:00 pm.

Jamestown YMCA Y Kidz Youth Program

For kids ages 5-12, this licensed, safe, affordable, supervised child care program includes games, crafts, swimming, and sports at the Jamestown YMCA.  10:1 staff to child ratio.  Pre-registration is required.  Daily schedule includes:

  • 8:00-9:00 am- Arrival/open recreation

  • 9:00-11:30 am- Arrival, Daily Craft, Computers, Games

  • 12:00 pm- Lunch (children must bring their own)

  • 1:30-2:30 pm- Youth Rec Swimming

  • 3:00-4:00 pm- Supervised Gym Time

  • 4:00-5:30 pm- Free Time

  • 5:30 pm- CLOSE

Program follows JPS district calendar including half days and most holidays/vacation/conference days.  8:00 am- 5:30 pm full days, 11:30 am-5:30 pm half days.

ONYAHSA MONTHLY  YOUTH OVERNIGHTERS

Monthly youth overnighters for ages 7-13 are offered yearround 
at Camp Onyahsa in Dewittville on beautiful Chautauqua Lake.  

Join us for monthly camps during the school year.  Indoor and outdoor camp activities such as archery, sports, arts and crafts, camp fires, fishing and canoeing  will be run by Onyahsa staff.  These small camps allow relaxed activities and campers reside in heated Sheldon Lodge.  This is a great way for veteran campers to stay connected and first-timers to try out Onyahsa.

YMCA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Register for Y Care Now!

Quality childcare is our priority at the YMCA.  We strive to provide a positive atmosphere 
for children with activities that teach values such as honesty, respect, caring, and 
responsibility.  Our staff is made up of well-trained adults and students who enjoy working 
with children. Through cooperation with some public schools, United Way, and other 
various organizations, transportation is available from some school districts.

Our after school care programs serve children ages 5-12 and are open on all regular days of school (by district) Monday - Friday, from 3:00 - 6:00 pm.  At the Jamestown, Eastside, Southwestern, and Randolph childcare sites, we offer extended hours for half days and our YMCA day camp program is available for holidays and vacation days.

Each day, children will receive a nutritious snack and daily activity choices such as arts and crafts, sports, swimming, science, computers, cooking, community service projects, games, homework help, large and small group games, and more!

The YMCA nursery school program is designed for children 
ages 3-5 years old and is held at 1 Bank Street in Randolph, NY. 
Program offers children an opportunity to be  part of a group, 
listen to others, express their thoughts, work with others, and 
develop language and vocabulary, build self confidence and a 
positive self image, develop the ability to socialize in play and 
work, improve large and small motor coordination and more.
